This is a travel story from the road in Lembah Bada, Lore Selatan, Kabupaten Poso, Sulawesi Tengah. W met Agus Tohama, a local and senior guide at Lore Lindu. Together they explored the valleys and traced the history of mankind in the heart of Central Sulawesi through the megalithic sites. The enigma hasn't been reveled yet and remains as tales but it's worth retelling.

Did we succeed to reveal it? The enigma is still there. The ancestors have done their part and have left us to continue searching for answers. That’s how we develop our civilization.

I bet some of you have heard about Korowai people. The ways of life of this indigenous people who live in southeastern of papua province—close to the border with Papua New Guinea—have attracted western anthropologists and documentary programs of prominent international TV stations since the outsiders made first contact with them in 1970.

Shinta Retnani (Asa Film) and I got a sanctity to live in the depth of the papua forest with this people to witnessing firsthand their ways of life. The narrative about Korowai in this podcast may be different from what you have heard before.

Travel Tales from The Road with Windy Eps 3: Korowai feat Shinta Retnani - ASA film

2 years ago, Asa Film assigned Shinta Retnani and I to live in the depth of the papua forest with the Korowai tribe and witnessed firsthand their real ways of living. These indigenous people who live in the southeastern of papua province—close to the border between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea—have attracted western anthropologists and documentary programs of prominent international TV stations since the outsiders made first contact around 1970. Still, we think the narratives haven't done them justice, because medias (and also tourists) have their own imagination about this tribe.

We had a chance to talk and listen about Korowai tribe from Boas, a Korowaian young man who was involved as a translator on 'My Year with the Tribe' - an unsetting documentary aired on BBC Two--and had worked with Rupert Stasch, an anthropologist from USA who has also compiled the only Korowai dictionary.
