Written for his wife of 33 years, Nancy Hargis, the song's inspiration came from a piano riff played by Winston's son, Danny Hargis. It remains the only song father and son had collaborated on. Winston died on April 22nd, 1999 - Danny's 30th birthday. Danny submitted the song to the California Country Music Association, earning Winston the posthumous honor, STATE WINNER of the Golden Note Award for Best Traditional Song of 1999. This song also earned him the CCMA's Most Promising Songwriter Award in 2000.
