This track was intentionally produced to give an impromptu/ad-lib performance feel to it.  All instrument and voice tracks were performed by Drake Holliday at a quality college recording studio with me at the helm as recording engineer and music producer (my first studio project, which naturally had to be a rush job... :) .

This unique tune came out of a college assignment that required I only use pre-made loops (which I hate using with a passion :) .  The concept and challenge of this song was to cross-pollinate a classical ambience with edgy percussion and modern instrumentation, to convey the truism that "everything [in existence] is a remix."

This song conveys an ambience of personal reflection on bittersweet memories and the mystery we individually confront in trying to understand the meaning of our life.

"Cohesion-tension" is a term used to describe the weak hydrogen bonding behavior of water molecules with one another (e.g. water beading) as utilized by trees and other plant life to draw water up against the pull of gravity, an essential process to life on Earth. This song is a musical allegory conveying the cohesion-tension behavior found in all systems in existence, including as viewed through sociology, biology, physics, philosophical constructs, etc.  All systems have dualistic behavior involving components that are simultaneously mutually supportive of and competitive with one another.

Still under construction, Destiny 'Trip' (Cruise Mix) is a distinctly different flavor of the original Destiny 'Trip', which is a metaphor for the human lifespan, with all its stages represented.  This mix, as the name implies, is more easy-going, yet even richer in harmonic layering.  Various changes will be made to it in the near future, prior to mastering.

Ascendancy was a song born from a deeply personal struggle I had for many years. The primary concept conveyed musically is of moving from "darkness to light". The lyrics by Taylor Podkranic, which have strong ties to the mythology of the Phoenix, are perfectly complimentary to the musical development of the song. The purpose of the song, as a whole, is to remind and inspire people, who may be in, or remember, that in their darkest hour, they can transcend their limits and struggles to be reborn into whomever they wish to be...
