The eponymous track of Wither Machine's Hayfever Era comes with it a bittersweet message of hope and fear. We hope for the future of our planet, that we as a species can stem the tide of Climate Change. Yet, there is the selfish desire to slow the progress of Spring to avoid reminders of past mistakes.

Spring has finally sprung, and Wither Machine continue to press forward with the new song, Hayfever.

Wither Machine continue their Hayfever Era with title track anthem, Hayfever, a song touching on global warming and trying to fix the world so you aren’t forced to remember your mistakes. The pop-rockiest entry in their catalogue so far, Hayfever looks forward to a brighter time for everyone.

This song really captures the essence of the early lockdown for us. Trying to stay positive through a wave of isolation and general negativity was super important, and we were making a lot of noise and music to pass the time and get through it. This song has been brewing since mid-2019 but only took its final form in late-2020 when we had more time to sit down and work out how to balance semi-dire lyrics with upbeat instrumentals. Lyrically, Hayfever plays with a purely selfish desire to slow global warming - Preventing an early spring heatwave and delaying the blooming of Daffodils, whose presence serves as a constant reminder of past relationship mistakes. This is the third entry in our Era of the same name and best represents our ideals – Upbeat Rock Music born from an undercurrent of sadness and a necessity to get away from it.

Wither Machine is alternative rock from three south coast nerds, scientifically designed for your listening pleasure. Formed in 2018, they run more smoothly for fans of Biffy Clyro, Steven Wilson and Royal Blood.
