I Don't Need Your Love

A few years ago, someone very close to me experienced a miscarriage.  You never know how devastating something can be until it happens within your family.  When I heard about what happened, I took some time alone in my room to just ponder on the fact that we had lost a member of the family.  
     Devastating moments like these are the times when music proves to be a benefit in painful situations.  I have found in these moments, writing can be an aid to that pain.  At the time, I decided to write a song from the perspective of the miscarried child, asking myself “If this child could write a letter to the mother from Heaven, what would he/she say and how could those words be encouraging for her?”  With that in mind, I came up with this, 

“Patiently I wait upon the floor, one day you’ll open the golden door.  It’s ok to cry if you want to, just know that I have been made brand new.  I’ll see you when you come Home.”

These lines drive the message of the hope, the fact that where we are currently is not forever.  One day by God’s grace, a family can be reunited in Heaven with Him.  One day by God’s grace, we too can be made brand new.

Our rendition of the heartwarming ballad "Shadow of the Day" by Linkin Park. We would like to dedicate this to our dear friend Calvin Yeager who passed away, and also to Chester Bennington, a great inspiration who sadly passed away this year too.
