I want to dedicate this mix to Miracle Washington. Miracle was a friend, supporter and incredible person who always brought a positive energy to any interaction she was a part of. You will be missed greatly Miracle. Much Love to you, Rest in Peace.

My summer mixes are mixes that include tons of soulful tunes that I love. I love a wide range of music, so there's soul, funk, hip hop, house and disco in here :) A lot of these songs are favorites of mine because of their positive message and ultimately, their healing qualities. In this uncertain time in my country I am more than happy to speak out about injustices and seek to better my own community. However, sometimes, we need songs to take us on a spiritual journey so that we can remember that though there is evil in the world, it does not have to define us. In a spiritual sense, we can live without that which we're opposed to defining our being; we can be free there.

Some of the songs in this mix speak about current realities (even though they were made 40 years ago)and some seek to deliver a message of higher understanding of our life here on earth. I'll leave you with Lonnie LIston Smith's line from the last song in this mix, Expansions:
"Expand your mind, to understand, we all must live in peace."

A lot of free time was sacrificed for this, patience had to be raised, the family had to put back, the drops of sweat are often pearled from the forehead, but all with warm understanding, great joy, life-affirming cheerfulness and a lot of love. A huge thanks for the help on this album goes out to the entire Breakbusters family and Breakin 'DJ friends, to the Chaots on the turntables, especially Daniel aka DJ Sam Spade and to my family Kati, Pauli and Fleur and all true friends. Please do not forget that I am not a professional producer, I do everything on the side, but that my goal is professional work on my music. My repertoire as a DJ is much bigger than big because I dig very deeply and besides producing that is the key to a very good Breakin’ DJ for the scene and community. I also support without any consideration. Word!
 
Even if it finally took three months after the last Breakbusters Release Vol. 2 with my new album, this album comes at a time when many people have more hope for a future after the pandemic. Maybe the album will bring you back a little smile and the songs will really shake your bones.
