This upset and anger

Long days
Infuriating conversations
Someone else’s troubles
Unexpected situations
Restless, tired
And unwilling to apologise
For other actions
That seem dramatised
So much tough love
In an insensitive world
Barely pleases or thanks
Only wisdom pearls
Empathy and sympathy
Everyone seems to lack
No longer giving anyone a break
Or cutting any slack
We’re all human
Having our limits
I thought before now
I’d probably hit it
So when you feel like
You’re on the edge
Take a step back
From the ledge
Stop thinking
And just let go
Of any negative seeds
Others try to sow
Breathe out the bad
Inhaling the peace
Until negative energy
Does cease
Nothing is worth your tears
If it does not break your heart
Imagine your life long love

Or not taking a chance
So only entertain
Those that would enhance
That make life worth living

Unrest At Its Best

Hearts & crafts

Our first encounter,
vividly lingers.
A brief exchange,
of awkward fingers.
A half hearted handshake,
to build up the tension.
A surprising lack of interest
or sibling intervention.
An air of calm
or possible elation.
A long Friday evening walk
and polite conversation.
Undeniable attraction,
both unwilling to admit.
Intrigued by each other,
flirting with being intimate.
Tactile as ever,
leaning in very close.
A brush of a chest,
more daring than most.
As dumbfounded as ever,
by our compatibility.
And how the sambuca paddle
only screamed chivalry.
As subtle as a brick,
was my expected confession.
You’d think the shots
would have taught me a lesson.
Hoping that you,
would stoop to my level.
So in an inebriated kiss
we could revel.
Cigarette filled lip locking,
absurd suggestions of wandering home.
To continue our poetic rendezvous
or counter act leaving alone.
Trying to impress
with bathroom acrobatics.
An art not lost on you,
admiring these Friday night dramatics.
Our 2 piece suite dreams
may have left us temporarily blushing.
With blatant disregard,
for anything that was not gushing.
Overwhelmed by uncertainty
or possible alcohol after effects.
What was in the pipeline,
neither of us would expect.
A crude awakening,
in the cold light of morning.
Not seeming phased at all
by this new interest dawning.
An all knowing smile,
one could hardly forget.
Holding me close,
as if we hadn’t only just met.

A note to my soulmate 

Soul mate,

I know you’re waking up 

with someone else by your side 

But that’s okay 

as we’re both just looking for time to bide 

You’re questioning how compatible you both are

Wondering if you should be thanking your lucky stars

You’re trying to work through the hard times like your mum and dad did

Contemplating, is this it?

Searching deep inside

You’re finding the strength to call it quits

You are almost sure

You both deserve better

Someone who is a go getter

Maybe a jet setter?

An anchor to keep you grounded

Or the one who will explain when you’re dumbfounded

A like hearted individual

Who is as mad as a hatter

Doesn’t quiet you when you chatter

Asks you not to change a thing

Wants you to be yourself in everything 

Finds the happiness in your frustration 

Shares your immense jubilation 

In the things you love

Eyes well up

Tears roll

It all seems to be

Too much to ask

That just isn’t feasible?

Miscommunication 

Turns to heated debate

Trying to explain

Just seems to exacerbate

After years of the same scenario 

wondering is it me?

The connecting factor 

Who just disagrees 

Lacking patience

And energy

Contemplating 

What would set them free

Becoming eternally muted

suppressing an emotion

Removing yourself from situations

To prevent any explosions

Either way

It’s hard to express

Why one thinks this way

And how we digress

Pure indecision

Can’t function

Or concentrate

To appreciate

Barrier broken

Deer in the head lights

Causing anticipated

Nobody knows

Nobody has the answers
Nobody wrote the guide
Your parents will give you advice
that they couldn’t live by if they tried
Noone can take the pain away
Noone can make you heal
Put it down to experience
and start looking at what is real
If you wouldn’t stand for those closest
being treated the same way
why lower your standards
and settle for the dismay
Don’t be in a rush
thinking you need someone by your side
take your time to wander
amongst those who you would confide
Find joy in the small things
those you underappreciate
Look in the darkest places
to help you reincarnate

Nobody Knows

Too many critics 

If you can’t say anything nice…
don’t say a word.
Only encouragement
is worthy of being heard.
If you can’t help being angry,
silence your thoughts.
Is it really worth dwelling
on what ought..
If you can’t say a word
be the bigger person
a smile, wave or nod
the situation
can’t worsen
If you can’t help feeling low
dig deep down inside
look for those inspirational examples
that make you burst with pride
If you can’t help yourself
help another
god knows we’re all winging it
like each other

Too Many Critics

Dear Carnivore

I am writing this letter to complain.

To express my frustration and overwhelming disdain.

To bring to your attention,

this lack of intervention

from our self acclaimed moral social frame.

I’m really unsure of where to begin,

shall we start with your every day consuming?

Blatant lack of information

or just blind communication

have contributed to this tragic state we live in.

Millions purchase meat everyday

No thought given, no word to say

thinking live stock are freely dying

are not reared for our supplying

ignorant to the existence of any other way.

A third of the world’s grain production

is utilised for utter destruction

feeding farmed animals we murder

coming to you from a distant herder

before you’ve even had a proper introduction.

40 million grains could feed the world & more

instead the majority choose to ignore

devouring meat thoughtlessly day in day out

not thinking of those who go without

carelessly indulging on cattle galore
55 billion animals killed every year

with barely any souls shedding a tear

1 billion in the UK alone

so many seem to condone

the sacrifice of innocent animals that we rear.
Not claiming vegetarianism is the straight up answer

one vegetable filled meal a day would be the first enhancer

although it reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer

cuts down the animal fat in your diet

which causes your beautiful organs to riot 

Switching to a plant based diet can lengthen your life

an estimated extra 13 years to be precise

slowing down cognitive and sexual dysfunction

while running in conjunction

with a healthier outlook that should have just sufficed
This rambling was intended to thought provoke

to reach out and invoke

to be the voice of the unheard

of the 2 percent most believe absurd

hoping just one more mind may be awoke
I’ll close my letter hoping my suggestions may be met

hoping to find the heart of a woeful reader full of regret

touched by a few home truths

spread the word to the seasoned and the youths

if not I wish you well in any future stomach upset.
