..... TEN Questions We Posed to Betty

1. What artists have made a big impact on you?
I particularly liked bands such as Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order… they were my favourites and I still listen to them now. New-wave influenced me a lot. That's what I like with the sounds of the tracks of Endrik Schroeder and Curses.

2. What attracts you to a song?
I generally like melodic or melancholic tracks with pads and synths, including some 80's vibes.

3. Your lifestyle in five words?
Night owl, music, equality, freedom, my sister & friends.

4. Who do you respect?
I respect those who respect me.

5. Which city do you live in?
Lyon.

6. Where is the best place to grab a coffee in your city?
I prefer to go out at night so I would say the Bellona, it's a boat with a restaurant and a night-club. The place is beautiful and it organises open air in the summer. I also like the Transbordeur for the concerts.

7. Do you believe in ghosts?
I don't know if ghosts exist, but if they came to haunt me, I wish they were the ghosts of David Bowie, Prince, Florian Schneider, Ian Curtis or Frédéric Chopin.

8. Are you more of a rule breaker or a rule keeper? Why?
In general, I respect the rules because they make it possible to live well in society, but in certain emergency or force majeure situations, I’m able to break them.

9. When you travel, do you pack too much or too little? Explain.
Too much!!!! I need to have all my house.

10. What are your future plans?
Since last summer, I have computer music lessons. My goal is to learn how to use Ableton to produce music.I recently collaborated with my friend Neurotiker for whom I writed the lyrics and gave my vocals. I’m over the moon, our track will be released at the end of the year on one of my favorite label, Melopee Records! And now I'm working on a new project still with Neurotiker. I really like his work.

Dystopie Solaire #6 - Gare du Nord invite Neurotiker

Voie 6, le train Neurotiker en provenance de Rio de Janeiro et à destination de Saturne entre en gare, montez le volume s’il vous plaît. Le producteur brésilien insatiable, auteur de sorties remarquées sur plusieurs labels (Ritmo Fatale, Mélopée Records, Weirdos Records, Ulla Records, Polari Records…), signe ici un set des grands soirs pour le retour de notre série Dystopie Solaire. Mixant les styles et les genres à la perfection, il nous entraîne dans son univers cyberpunk, aux accents rétro et mélancoliques, et nous fait peu à peu perdre pied. 

Comme une évidence, il forme désormais un duo avec Betty, notre dernière invitée de la série, sous le nom de Nouveau Futur. Leur track "Amour éphémère"(qui sortira le 07 décembre sur Mélopée Records) s’annonce déjà comme un classique, et vient sublimer cette heure passée au nirvana.

Hottest summer sunset time. Discobeton plays at the party on the terrace of Villa Technobeton. A construction of future-nostalgic tunes, arpoficial ideas and a  melodical molecules in a peroni bottle. 

The venue manager - Technobeton while sipping savourosly but thinkfully at his gin tonic explains: 

"There are various inspirations for Discobeton's new mix: some come from Bavaria, and especially Ingolstadt, others form Tirol and the train conductor, a cousin of Giorgio Moroder, who takes only cash, Definitely also from Balconia, a secret pseudo-banana republic in the west corner of Stuttgart located next behind Beaverly Hills, about which rumours say there is one of Discobeton's studios. If people would know Discobeton well and long as I do, in the mix they can hear sounds from 1001 places, even of those places which are neither visited, nor existent. You can hear the wind driving full speed to Δράμα, you can hear the superficial magic of free intuition, you can always have a crush or at least crushed beats in the most beautiful imperial jungle. It's music for fluid mechanics, like in Summer´99 (formerly known as Summer´85) which has still never gone and is being continued every day."

Techonbeton invites us to a Ü150 Party with a Hassen Markov's live set later in the basement of the villa and disappears mysteriously.

WLDV starts its activity in 2012 DJing and creating music based on synthesizers and inspired by the electronic music of the 70s, 80s and early 90s like Italo Disco, EBM, New Beat, Techno… with clear influences of the B movies, sci-fi, horror and fetish stuff.

He released vinyl and cassettes on labels such as Giallo Disco, Bordello A Parigi, Waste Editions, Violette Szabo, Soil Records, Aspecto Humano, Eclectic Reactions, Cold Beats, Fill Lex Records, Infidel bodies, The Hiddens, Patch Records, 4mg Records, Italo Moderni… And many more. 
He also played several live and dj set performances around Europe and North America.

WLDV hosted and played as resident at the Vocoder Club parties from 2014 to 2019 and drives also the label Eclectic Reactions since 2014 together with Radithor.
