DIN, the project of Los Angeles's Josie Vand and Greg Vand, are able to extract choice elements from eras past and distill it into an impressively focused and modern sound. Every sound, every texture, every voice falls perfectly into place, as the palette effortlessly winds from warm and pastoral to cold and sharp, leaving you room to both dance and dream. The "Real Dirt" LP is infectiously understated from start to finish, and as the follow up to their "Saturate" EP on Ascetic House it proves that DIN is a serious force in modern synth music. 

Those familiar with the label may recognize Greg Vand from his role in the great High-Functioning Flesh, however DIN will likely appeal more to fans of Factory Floor, Tropic of Cancer, and Boy Harsher. Josie Vand has previously performed as a member of DVA Damas and contributed her visual art talents to the Jealous God label.

Variform is a gallery dedicated to sound installation and composition. Commissioning artists to remotely create and show original work, we have shown work both at our gallery space in downtown Portland, OR, alongside public installation sites and historic churches. All audio in this mix is unreleased material from the artists, mixed in Max/MSP with custom FFT processing.

The audio from Visible Cloaks and Justine Highsmith were composition for a ambisonic panning system installed in a large public park. Cathedral Park in Portland, OR lies at the base of the St. Johns Bridge, a historic bridge designed by renowned engineer David B. Steinman. The audio pieces were designed to interact with the foundational architecture of the bridge, utilizing six long throw audio horns in a 150-meter span. Funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and the Calligram Foundation.
 
The audio from Daryl Seaver, G.S. Sultan and Ben Glas were installation work showcased in Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland, OR. The intent of the installation site was to reach transit commuters at peak work times, providing an alternative to the corporate art and advertisement rife in the central business district. Funded by the Regional Arts & Culture Council.
 
WL and Golden Retriever were tasked with performing on one of the oldest pipe organs in the state of Oregon. The three manual pipe organ at the First Congregational Church of Christ features a full set of original Hook & Hastings pipes machined in 1890, controlled by a Casavant Frères console.
