Utilising heavily the sounds of modular synths and home-built drum machines, Hormone Lemonade still keeps the loose, improvised sound familiar to fans of their first two albums, with minimal guitar melodies and live drum kit helping to build hypnotic layers of texture. An album that promises to be full of "experiments, improvisations, and refinements" and with Cavern at the controls, surely to be one of the year's best.

I mean, I'm running it all to a USB Audio interface mixer right into the computer and I COULD be recording into Ableton. Not to mention my monitor speaker has a cracked cone so it buzzes. Still I keep recording with the voice recorder of my phone. It sounds like the room I'm in with the strings of Christmas lights and a drum kit in the corner where if I hit it just right, the snare rattles. Honestly, I am surprised the dogs aren't barking in there somewhere. 

I love the sound of these analog synths. This isn't music for looking at head on. This isn't for the spotlight of your attention but for the floodlight of your general awareness. I want you to be productive and not distracted but I'll be glad if there's a moment somewhere in there, somewhere you aren't necessarily LISTENING but suddenly you HEAR. I won't be in the forest to hear that tree fall, but I will know. I'll know there's some snare springs rattling in your heart.
