With 'Hidden' we welcome back Marcovits to the label with a brand new single and a superb remix from Joone. Marcovits who has developed a universally loved unique style; consisting of dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fit in any kind of club or festival. His releases have always received high acclaim - with support across the board from the who is who is in the world of electronic music. 

To open the release, Marcovits drops the delightful 'Hidden'. A track full of driving vibrancy, while the arrangement keeps you moving with the energy on offer. 'Hidden' conveys a club edge with deep stimulated elements, capped off by Marcovits' fantastic production skills. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The groove and melodies are the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow and creating an air of sophistication. The sole remix of 'Alright' comes courtesy of Joone who delivers a trademark indie infused club monster with infectious chords that takes the energy levels up a notch, while increasing the melancholy with stripped back and expressive components. We are delighted to welcome Swedish producer Whirl with his superb 'Time Arc EP' to ICONYC. The talented producer has been causing a stir within the scene with his unique and lasting productions. Whirl developed an inimitable style of music, full of drive, paired with despondent and warm dreamy patterns that guided them to where he is today and embodies the sound, he now personifies. 
 
On his debut Whirl leads with the outstanding 'Aevum'; a stunning driving melodic affair with some techno elements for good measure. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and driving synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a deep kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction. Clever synth phrases complete the picture to create an ingeniously worked piece of art. 

The melodic soundscapes of the accompanying track 'Arc' rounds off this spectacular release. Whirl's influences are immediately evident as subtle freeform concepts drift through percussive inspired instrumentations. Rippling melodies trip along a deep kick that anchors an auricular montage to create a special sonic infused moment, complemented by a stunning groove that is going to leave a mark on your aural perception. Stunningly textured pads that warm the soul and a strong melodic infused bassline provide the base for this inspired piece to play out in delayed glory. Essential stuff!

With Whirl's debut outing on ICONYC, he takes his talents a step further to round off this brilliant underground 2 track crowd pleaser. To close out the year on the label in style we welcome Some Of and Moon-Sun with their brand new 'Waiting EP'. On their ICONYC debut the duo gets us in the mood with the opening title track 'Sunshine'. A grooving progressive melodic roller, fusing chord stabs with string ensembles and clinical percussion with a beautiful driving lead line and vocal. 'Sunshine' is a monster of a track, that is perfect for your club inspired evening entertainment and to get you in the mood for a big night out.

Next up we have the 'Waiting'; this driving offbeat basslined winner, really hits it one from the off, as it musically slams it home. Venturing deeper inside W's sharp take on modern electronica, the Berlin - based imprint unveils its sixth capsule with Deciduous & Atóm's kinetic House on Fire EP. Featuring two brooding cuts, this complex delivery explores cavernous terrains and dystopian emotions in a narcotic blend designed to satisfy unknown needs.

In a smoldering late - night seance, Deciduous & Atom enthrall us with the opening "House On Fire", where a textured tapestry of synths ebb and flow in mysterious ways before the pair deploy a full - bodied frame. Flickering between fluid motion and fractured stasis, the piece unfolds with an organic unpredictability, as spectral melodies rise from its mechanical center. Following a first break, Deciduous & Atom take a left - field turn and unleash meandering chopped vocals that come alive as the piece explores its own limits before slowly malfunctioning, presenting us with a hollowed - out core where every cog and gear is repurposed for a majestic send - off into the shadows of a burning sanctuary.

On the flip side, the creative duo presents us with the ceremonial "Let It Out". Here, chained embers burn dimly before a thrashing low - end sweeps us away as it runs amok through the late hours. As "Let It Out" finds its menacing demeanor, iridescent vocal sways come in and out of frame, misdirecting our attention while Deciduous & Atom tamper with the track in delicious ways, tinkering with every line with meticulous precision, generating explosive arrangements that keep us on the edge. A monumental balancing act of sheer power and finesse, "Let It Out" is a mischievous piece that exemplifies the adventurous spirit driving the future of W.
