David Best or should we call him Sergeant Major Best, is impressive!  When you listen to this podcast, you will know why!  He served for 32 years in the Army before working at Humana.  He started as a Process Consultant and is currently a Senior Talent Management Professional.  He reflects on his first weeks at Humana and how it might feel to a service member transitioning to civilian life in corporate America.  Dropping out of high school to join the army, David pressed forward to finish high school and ultimately college.  He is an advocate for education and will push his associates to reach beyond.  He is a dedicated leader for the SALUTE! NRG and directly credits SALUTE Network Resource Group for helping him have a solid second career. David is on a mission to help veteran’s bridge the gap in becoming great achievers in a corporate atmosphere.  We were honored to sit across from Sergeant Major Best and are thankful for his willingness to serve!

About Lynn: Lynn is the Director of Long Term In Home care management for Humana at Home and has been in this role for just over a year. She has worked for Humana for nearly 11 years, starting as a Field Care Manager for Green Ribbon Health in 2008. She worked as a State Manager for In Home Care Management and supported Dual Demos for 2-1/2 years. She became Program Manager for Process Improvement in 2016, before moving to her current role. Prior to working for Humana, worked at a local department of Social Services in Child Protective Services. She has a bachelor of Social Work degree and an MBA. She lives in Virginia with her husband, 95-year old mother in law, and 3 dogs.

This Humana Life Podcast Team will forever be in awe of Jody Bilney.  Every word, statement, and analogy is golden.  Jody is brilliant!  Her insight and vision in the consumer realm is evergreen.  She chooses to stay relentlessly focused and reminds us that we need to change and evolve.  There is so much content in this episode; committing to our consumer, every interaction should be intentional, remember who we are serving, when a company is in crisis mode – just to name a few; so, you will need to listen more than once.  

Jody states, “Marketing sets the promise and we have to deliver. Change as a company and change as an individual.”  As we all know, Jody will be leaving from Humana at the end of the year, and her legacy is one of promise, delivery, and growth.  It was an honor for This Humana Life Podcast Team to sit with Jody Bilney and we will do our best to move her vision forward and never forget who we are serving. Ty Richardson hit the ground running at Humana. Within his first year, he pushed the needle on Talent Management initiatives and volunteered to step into the role of Ally Recruitment Lead for the Women’s Network Resource Group (WNRG). His vision in Talent Management for Humana is career cultivation. His vision for recruiting allies to the WNRG is to build on the current momentum and getting men off of the sidelines to help women advance and succeed. 

A father to four adopted children, Ty has a heart of gold and has the drive to make a difference for people personally and professionally. •	She recommends the culture workshop as a way to identify different aspects of yourself
•	To her Bold Goal is all about how we better understand those we serve and help them to bring their full self to any situation they are in
