Ross Lagerblade is a wealth of information and his diverse background in healthcare is fascinating.  Ross notes that he is not from a clinical environment, but he has a gift of discussing this work as if he is. From his work at the Mayo Clinic to deciding on a Friday afternoon who might qualify for a transplant; Ross' work journey is vast.  Ross put the phrase 'perfect experience' into perspective when he verbally painted pictures of moments captured with patients. Ross Lagerblade is an Associate Vice President of Value Based Strategies. Ross is a strategic leader with responsibility for managing Care Decision Insights, the medical oncology quality program, and currently leads a company strategy to reduce provider administrative burden in the prior authorization process.
 
Ross has been with Humana for 13 years in various provider-facing roles.  Prior to joining the company, he worked at the Mayo Clinic in Payor Relations, and held various roles at Cigna, Aetna, the Alexian Brothers, and the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics.
 
Ross holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

David Best or should we call him Sergeant Major Best, is impressive!  When you listen to this podcast, you will know why!  He served for 32 years in the Army before working at Humana.  He started as a Process Consultant and is currently a Senior Talent Management Professional.  He reflects on his first weeks at Humana and how it might feel to a service member transitioning to civilian life in corporate America.  Dropping out of high school to join the army, David pressed forward to finish high school and ultimately college.  He is an advocate for education and will push his associates to reach beyond. Prior to working for Humana, worked at a local department of Social Services in Child Protective Services. She has a bachelor of Social Work degree and an MBA. She lives in Virginia with her husband, 95-year old mother in law, and 3 dogs.
