Infectious Inspiration is hosted by a public health student for public health students. Public health students and professionals are interviewed about their academic, internship, research, and career experiences in public health. The hope is to inspire listeners to explore classes and careers in public health and to become confident in conducting informational interviews of their own after listening to the podcast.

The first interview is with Professor Nura Anwar, my professor for my Experiential Learning class. Professor Anwar has impressive public health experience in her academics and in her career. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Global Dance from NYU and her MPH in Global Public Health and Health and Human Rights from NYU and has professional experience in data driven research, advocacy, leadership, collective impact and strategic advising with community based organizations, non-profits and government agencies. Her areas of work include: Emergency Management, Chronic disease and Prevention, Pediatrics, Maternal health, Mental health, and Global health. In my interview, I asked Professor Anwar about why she selected her MPH concentration, how her fieldsite experience reflected what she learned in her public health classes, and how her Global Dance studies influenced her public health studies. Live from New York Episode 1- The Firsts of 30 Rock (Featuring Mikey Day)

I met my interviewee, Parker Lynch, in my health policy class. Parker and I sat next to each other and worked on class projects together and bonded over our love for public health and our hope to one day have a career in public health. 

Parker is currently a junior studying global public health and applied psychology at NYU and is interested in one day getting an MPH degree and attending med school. In my interview with her, I asked her about her experiences with her public health classes and internships and how they have helped her determine her interests within the realm of public health.
