The first time I have ever recorded live guitar looping with singing! This song was my final song, the end of my first full record live show on the night of our last Blue Moon til' 2020.

The basic chords on the guitar looped are the verse chords for Aphex Twin's Avril 14th. I just started adding looping and this is the jam I did on top of it. I was inspired by the beauty but also sadness of my experiences in some of the poorest parts of California.

Desert Hot Springs Sunset

I started writing this song inspired by a tragic accident I stumbled upon back in February of 2019. A beautiful musician and person I met in the low desert was severely injured and almost lost his life. The day after I met a man by chance that told me there needed to be a song called the pendulum swings. Being in a depressed state of writer's block at the time, I took his idea to heart. I wrote the song for Drew with the hope that the experience would speak to the tragedy in people's lives and perhaps to our idea of what kind of society we want to be as we enter a new century.

Yaz Solaire Yanos was born in California to a family of religious Polish immigrants, grew up on Cle Elum Lake 80 miles east of Seattle in the Cascades, left organized religion as a family when Solaire was 17, and then went to Burning Man as a family in 2017.

Yaz has been singing his entire life since he was a child in church, started playing guitar at 13, and then started songwriting at 15, inspired by Nirvana to channel his depression into a passion for meaningful music. This passion led Solaire on a journey to listen and learn from the music and musicians of every generation and to believe in the spiritual healing power of community, love, and music instead of God. 

Woes Be Gone Sun, his one-person looping band, was created after a decade of busking by grocery stores and farmers markets along the west coast to attempt to capture the unique converge of influences that create his psychedelic and spiritual music.
