I made this one using only an laptop, headphones and free software.

I write this to encourage all of those, who can't afford for high quality equipment and think that this is an obstacle, which stops from making music. Good news is that you can make sweet music with very little.

Btw, this is my first work made with MIDI. It was fun!

It was the 6th anniversary of Metapop - the online platform for music creators. On this occasion, one of the biggest original song competitions in the history of Metapop was organized.
The rules of the game were simple: grab quickly raw vocal tracks provided by organizers and create your own music around it. People had amazing ideas - someone made a piece of reggae, someone went into jazz, someone laid down a juicy beat ... I was thrown towards classic rock. Adjusting to the shape imposed by the vocal, I tried to put myself into it and drop a little flavor here and there. The lyrics are about the culture and values ​​of the Metapop community and the music tells a little bit about me.

It's All About The Music (Metapop Contest Song)

Sound in constant motion. Each instrument tells a story - supposedly its own, separate and yet common story. Without words, without imposed verbal message, leaving freedom of interpretation. I love this kind of music!

It started with recordings while practicing the guitar.
I wanted to leave it right after recording and superficial mixing - I really did. But I heard in my imagination what it would sound like in the embrace of intro and outro and run through some effects ...and I was gone! The fun of sculpting the sound has begun.

I would still tweak, twist the knobs, I would add another parts and layers with pleasure, but then I would be lost in the wonderland forever, and this piece might not see the day light for a long time.
That's it! I am releasing as it is.
...and maybe one day I will come back to it

Second take of that tune during our first meeting in this line-up. The quality of the recording leaves a lot to be desired - the lead guitar got lost behind the section and you need to focus properly in order to enjoy it  ;)
Nevertheless it's a quite decent interpretation.
