Formed by Noit Otni & The Pits guitarist Rob Jacob with ex-Unicorn members Kevin Smith, Pat Martin, Ken Baker and Pete Perryer (who was later superseded by Michael "Nicko" McBrain. later of Iron Maiden), this Guildford band released one single [GO 351] on the Logo label in May '79 titled "If You Ain't Scared" with "Little Pictures" on the b-side. The Mighty Strypes were renowned for their stonking live performances. In 1980 they released a double A-side 7" on the Ape Records label [APE 001] carrying, this track, "Five For You (Work)" and "Natural Reaction" to positive reactions from local rags and fanzines. Aldershot based West One were on the bill when The Buzz Club rounded out '86 with a local bands gig featuring Steel Bill and the Buffalos, Second Balcony Jump, and The Jeremiahs. The band appeared on Son of Farnborough Groove Vol.2 in '92 with this track "House Of Cards", and followed that with "Dreaming On My Feet" on Farnborough Groove strikes back! Vol.5 in '95.
