New east London label Wold Recordings bring you the debut 12" EP from electronic ambient pop artist Yukka.

With a love for vintage equipment and real world sounds (including the next door neighbours bird aviary), Yukka's music is immediately nostalgic. Dreamy melodic textures and trickling percussive samples merge effortlessly with trip hop drums, sultry pitchshifted vocals and lush electronic production. Yukka's influences range from the melancholic ambient pop of Cocteau Twins and Broadcast to the electronica of Four Tet and Ulrich Schnauss.

Yukka is the recording monikor of Lincolnshire born, east London based electronic musician Jacob Mayfield. He is one half of electronic pop duo Victoria and Jacob (currently on hiatus), who’s debut album, released in 2013 on Fika Recordings, was described by Drowned In Sound as “blissful candy floss electronica. Fleetwood Mac via Saint Etienne”

Yukka will be performing live for the EP launch at the Waiting Room in Stoke Newington on 15th August.
