Me Succeeds - Rongorongo

A language, that can´t be read.

Hamburg-based electropop-trio Me Succeeds releases their fourth album "Rongorongo" on the selfmade label i saw music. The band will autonomously distribute the record, manifested in 180 gramms of vinyl, clad in screenprinted artwork. In addition the full album will be available as a free download on isawmusic.de.

The naming of "Rongorongo" refers to the long lost language of the Easter Island that is deemed indecipherable. Me Succeeds tell of this oblivion, of the incomprehension and of losing the relation to oneself. But the songs featured on "Rongorongo" remain unintrusive and leave room for interpretations.

Musically, Me Succeeds stick with the classic indie-sounds of bass, guitars and stageorgan, but arrange them with the beats and the simplicity of house- or minimal-techno structures.

Muzik Box’s tenth release brings us pure heat courtesy of LA based outfit Futurewife. “Get Your Nails On” featuring Seattle based vocalist Brace Evans is the combo’s second outing on the Muzik Box label following up from their previous smash “I Work”. “Get Your Nails On” is a jacking house track which oozes club sophistication envisioning voguing divas and acid washed denim wearing club casualties. This cut is a nod to the classic 90’s House sound as well as a nod straight towards the future. On remix duties we have Karl Kling who delivers a modern day Hi-NRG tinged electronic disco smash, all charged with arpeggiated bass lines and vocoder vox. Kling’s past sins include a co-op with Grammy award winning act RAC as well a self-titled album. Lisbon, Portugal based Xinobi has taken a break from touring with his new album (out on his own label Discotexas) to give us a deeper & darker take on the original, perfect for alate night extravaganza. Futurewife feat. Brace Evans - Get Your Nails On (Xinobi remix)

For the first release of 2013 we are happy to welcome back the Australian duo Trinity & Beyond. We've had them aboard in 2011 so it was about time for them to return.

Trinity & Beyond is a collaboration between the lovely DJ Trinity and multi talented producer John Tzineris. With combined forces their productions are from an exceptional high level. In 2012, they've had a release on the Pinksilver label and they were also involved in delivering some quality remixes. Their remix for Nadja Lind's 'Brain Candy Remixed' album for instance was featured alongside remixes by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, D. Diggler and Dub Taylor. Trinity & Beyond were in good company to say the least.

Having had quite a nice year it only makes sense for Trinity & Beyond to release another EP filled with new originals. All three original tracks are a perfect blend of moody melodics, groovy basslines and perfect percussion which results in beautiful productions. Additionally there is a remix by Ina Becker, who has made her debut on Cinematique last year. She transforms the title track into an uncompromised dancefloor filler while Australian producer Child slows it down to an off beat deep house version. 

02 Wasted Time - Trinity  Beyond [Cinematique] edit

Released in July, Belgian producer Compuphonic’s hazy, light dappled house track ‘Sunset’, has grown through word of mouth to become one of 2012’s biggest underground hits, watched over 2 million times on YouTube. The track, featuring the plaintive vocals of Marques Toliver (Bella Union), is now set for a full re-release in February on Get Physical, backed with remixes from some of the most exciting names in clubland today.
 
Fellow Belgian producer, Aeroplane, shows just why he’s one of the most in demand producers around at the moment, delivering a remix that floats from the speakers, expertly capturing the warmth inherent in the original.
 
Riding high on the back of acclaimed remixes for T.E.E.D. and Disclosure, London duo Waze & Odyssey inject their trademark house/garage bump n’ grind into the track, whilst up & coming UK producers Aashton & Swift provide a sophisticated remix whose subtle dynamics, synths and piano are sure to soundtrack suns both setting and rising throughout 2013.
 
Get Physical’s own David Keno and Fabio Giannelli each retool the track for dark Berlin dancefloors. David’s percussive remix, adds a note of urgency to the original’s laidback command to get ‘Down to the Dancefloor’, whilst Fabio swathes his remix in sepulchral synths, reverb and delay to create a disorientating mix perfect for losing yourself to in the smoke and lights of a club.
 
Finally, and exclusive to iTunes, we have Paraguay’s LPZ, whose ‘Late Night Remix’ sees Marques’ vocals ride over a bubbling bassline, portentous metronomic stabs and a solid, driving 4/4 beat.
 
With releases on labels such as Tiga’s Turbo, 20:20 Vision and his own Union Match Music, Compuphonic, aka Maxime Firket, has long been regarded by those in the know as one of Europe’s best new producers and DJs. Now with the re-release of ‘Sunset’ and shows over the coming months at such prestigious events as Trans Musicales de Rennes, Eurosonic Noordeslaag and SXSW in the US, he’s set to become one of Europe’s best known too.
