Having met at 8 years olds in Minnesota, the deadly duo making up No Regular Play have had plenty of time under their belts together. They’ve nurtured years of musical chemistry developed through their mutual love for hip-hop and jazz since childhood, ultimately translating the essentials of these genres into their own style of experimental electronic music. Since the ripe age of 12, Greg Paulus performed trumpet at local jazz clubs into the wee hours of the night and ultimately went on to study jazz/classical music at the Manhattan School of Music. Pair that with Nick DeBruyn’s ability to lay down a masterful rhythm, somehow finding a way to fuse an indie vibe with a deep house touch while never forgetting his jazz roots, and you get another track that is consistent with No Regular Play’s distinct style.
Wolf + Lamb is excited to present NRP’s latest collaboration, Too Dramatic, one of their most anticipated releases since their album Endangered Species. They stay true to their imaginative, self-styled approach to electronic music by having this track led by catchy vocals and groovy instrumentals while still staying very dancefloor-friendly. Too Dramatic will be a perfect addition to the incredible live sets No Regular Play is known for, a performance for which they tour worldwide regularly as well as holding residency in Brooklyn’s unique Marcy Hotel. The aged, deep-rooted musical connection between the duo, which is palpable during their live shows, has allowed No Regular Play to develop as musicians and will continue to do so as long as the instruments let them.

For release thirty-eight, label co-founder Mark Slee gets back into the producer’s chair for his third original EP on Manjumasi. The Eiderdown EP features two original tracks that very much follow in the tradition of Slee’s sound on the label: textured grooves, syncopated bass lines, and unique melodic leads. The quirky bell-like tones that feature in both Eiderdown and Velveteen have become a sonic signature for Slee, echoing the label’s inaugural Nocturne Belle EP and playing in the gray areas where organic and synthetic sound design meet.

On remix duties are two outstanding artists with well-established talents for balancing groove and sensitivity. First up is Venezuelan producer Arutani, well-known for his beautiful full-length albums on Laut & Luise. His remix of Eiderdown morphs the track into a darker, moodier space with a satisfying interplay between mysterious, ethereal pads and staccato arpeggiated synth lines. Next up is Soela, whose “Genuine Silk” LP on Dial firmly established her unique take on delicate dance music. Her dreamy dub mix of Velveteen is one that you can just let endlessly wash over you. A beautiful three-chord motif forms the anchor of the track, a magical musical passage that evokes a bit of everything - sadness, love, regret, optimism, and joy all at once. The original acid line wafts in and out as the track evolves over the course of a gentle arc.

On Pablo Bolivar's Patreon page, after a production tutorial, one of his supporters called Prvotsky was really inspired by the video and decided to produce something special. 

After some days, Prvotsky wrote Pablo introducing the result of the track, and the amazing dubby sounds gave Pablo an idea:
