Smartmellow is the Artistname for Wolfgang Fahr, a german guitarist, composer and producer born 1953 in Würzburg currently residing in Kleinostheim, close to Aschaffenburg. After a violin studium in his early years he started to addict to guitar relatively late at the age of 15, inspired on a travel to Finland by a friend who sat at midnight on the upper deck of a ferryboat to Helsinki playing alone Suites of Johann Sebastion Bach in total inner harmony. His awoked addiction to the 6 string Nylon Acoustic progressed with love, surrender and dedication. Already in 1972 a film crew working in Avignon France booked Wolfgang every night to play his warm touched lounge acoustic guitar freestyle on their after work parties. Magic nights.

Wolfgang then started his professional career in Munich after finishing his master degree in Organic Chemistry in 1978 upon recommendation of his friend and keyboarder Alex Grünwald who later on became a successful artist in  Germany with the Popband Münchner Freiheit until today. They both toured for 4 years with their Elastic Rock Band Quartett all over Germany and recorded one album in Switzerland, Faruks Traum, in 1980, with own compositions. Wolfgang then got called to Aschaffenburg to join and form the explosive Salsa Fusion Candela which made dance the European Clubs and Festivals from 1982 to 1986 in over 600 livegigs, Radio and TV Shows. Three albums were released and on parallel Wolfgang gained a master degree as guitar teacher from the Bavarian Ministry for Science, Research and Art. Furthermore he guided a masterclass for guitar, harmony and composition techniques on a regional Jazzschool. His engagement and success were exemplary and model for the rapid development in the 80ties of the cultural landscape in Aschaffenburg, which was a sleeping bush-league city before. Wolfgang left Candela, from familiar reasons, but never his music. He turned into Information Technology where he was performing another career at the end as IT Program Manager for HP for 25 years, certified as Project Management Professional PMP. In August 2013 he left HP with a maximum payoff to focus exclusively to professional producing his premium songs of over 300 musicpieces he drafted steadily on parallel during his assignments at Candela and HP with the objective to let the world now enyjoy the inner harmony and uniqueness of his mature and sophisticated art.
