Ego deaths can be insane. This song creates a story about a young artist who can't seem to take the leap into what he loves. Suicide is always creeping around the corner, but he is trying to find a way to stay away from it. Dark paradise is the idea that you can only see into what you truly want. The darkness is what your afraid of, but if you face it then you can become better. You can bring light to your true paradise. The idea of suicide is to kill the old you, while your dark paradise creates a new you. When the artist decides to embrace his life the music changes. This portion of the song represents the death of the artists old personality and rebirth as a new artist. This can be heard by the sample lyrics "Don't be shy!" Suicide prevention is a serious matter for Wolfgangyb and the story attempts to help teach people that sometimes its not about ending everything but just about ending what doesn't make you happy.  The new you can only survive if you kill the old you. "Find your dark paradise, the place that no one else can see. Let it consume and kill you as it rebirths a new you."

Hey guys this is Wolfgangyb, I hope you enjoy this little mix I put together for a show back in April. I went in and fixed some of the louder sections so please enjoy!

Wolfgangyb is a music producer and DJ based out of Portland, Oregon who has the west coast jumping wild. With his latest summer release “Making Me Complete”, Wolfgangyb delivers the bass to your face. Early on in his life Wolfgangyb was so intrigued with the structure of music that he started working with free audio workstations creating some of his first pieces. Eventually he found cheap turntables and started to DJ. Before pursuing an education, Wolfgangyb started editing audio/music for sports videos and intros, including highlight films for Omedia Interactive and various local filmmakers. After some time Wolfgangyb started writing scores for several short animation films during his studies at Portland State University.

 

Prior to studying music at Portland State, Wolfgangyb got his Associate's Degree in Computer Science from Portland Community College. When Portland State first offered a degree for music production in 2017, Wolfgangyb dropped everything and called the school to enroll immediately. Wolfgangyb went on to study Sonic Arts and Music Production at Portland State University receiving his Bachelor’s of Science degree in 2020. Performing with the Portland State Laptop Ensemble, Wolfgangyb has performed several shows at the Kex theater in Portland, OR. His debut album “Isolation” was written as a compilation album of all the final mixes made during his final term at school. The name was inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic which caused a lot of us to isolate in our homes and rooms.
