6. Etude #1 - Splitting Atoms

Based off of the extremely groovy Jim Casella Percussion Ensemble piece "Scuttlebutt", "Scuttled" is a feature cadence written for an intermediate level battery ensemble that wants to showcase their dynamic range and capture the crowds - and their opponents - attention with a very fun(ky) groove.

"Scuttled" is written for 4 basses, but a 5 bass option is available.

A Stand Cadence that was originally written for Lithonia High School in 2016, M.I.A. is a Intermediate level Groove Cadence that features the bass drums and quints trading melodic lines throughout the piece. This quickly became a crowd favorite addition to the book.

C.W.D.C. is a track/battle cadence that was originally written for Lithonia High School in 2018.

This cadence was originally written for 4 bass drums, but this recording features the 5 bass drum version.
