Oliver creates highly glossy still images and various moving animations portraying characters of his own creation and how they interact with the worlds he has made. Oliver uses this art form as way to escape from everyday mundane life and into a world that he has full control over. By taking inspiration from the immediate world around him and some unattainable elements, Oliver is able to construct a world that is only possible in dreams.

My knowledge gained during my degree and additional creative endeavors have allowed me to create interactive and moving pieces of art that relay ideas that I feel passionately about, as well as explore issues that I believe are not being explored enough digitally. In addition to touching on identity politics ideas, my work explores feelings, perspective, and introspective intimate topics that a wider range of people can relate to by virtue of us living in a time with such a large digital presence.

Lulu (born Nolubabalo) Mhlana was born in Mount Frere, Eastern Cape in 1993 and she spent most of her childhood in Durban. Currently based in Cape Town, Lulu was drawn to photography in 2014, after completing her communication studies, and later bought her first camera in 2015 and started shooting.

Her first photo series came in 2016, titled The Anatomy of Black- a nude series exploring the beauty represented by the black body.

ALL MY BESTFRIENDS ARE GHOSTS: A Performance by Vuyolwethu Reoagile

Any writer will tell you that the centre of their craft is reading, among other forms of observations. This part of Graphoflux is a soundtrack dedicated to my literary role models, namely Kathy Acker, Diane Di Prima, Emmet Williams and Allen Ginsberg. 

The introduction is by Kathy Acker reading from her book, Pussy – King of the Pirates. The beat is one that I found on my laptop. I'm not quite sure where it comes from; however, I found it interesting to play around with what might happen to the passage on a trap beat by a crew called WCV.

The second piece is by Diane Di Prima, it's called Revolutionary Letter, and with that I played around with making it a letter to the Indigo Children; kicking it off with GZA beat followed by the Flatbush Zombies. 

The third piece is Emmet Williams accompanied by Booker T and the MG'S. 

Music has always been central to my writing process. In 1996, Kathy Acker recorded an album with British cult band, The Mekons and the featured song is the Sailor's Song; which inspired a short novella I am writing about young women who become pirates. I freely use Acker's work because she encouraged people to use her work as she did by working with the cut and paste technique. 

The last piece is by one of my favourite poets, Allen Ginsberg. It speaks for itself. 

The actual book I WROTE is coming out o 11 May 2019. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it and finding inspiration in people, places and things.

Under Graphoflux, Vuyolwethu Reoagile has compiled and published two anthologies which combine text and multimedia elements such as audio, art and video. In collaboration with Ilze Marie Wessels of OTYNet [Online Tethering ‘Y’ Network], the dimension of sound architecture has been incorporated as we contemplate the future and reflect on the past.

Having met through the prototype product service of OTYNet [Online Tethering ‘Y’ Network] in 2019 via the Goethe Institute, we continue to collectively contemplate the moment through the art of sound & dialogue under the guiding concept of ‘The Gallery Tree’ in the hope that we may arrive at a future where our dreams create room for innovation, income generation & skills sharing.

What is normal? Were things ever normal to begin with? Covid19 turned our world upside down, and the creative industry is in urgent need of change and transformation. Thus, we are constantly engaging what it means to be an artist and to be a woman during this difficult time through our art, poetry, and storytelling.
