On peut apprécier un canard laqué parisien, une pizza écossaise, un couscous vietnamien voire une crêpe andalouse, mais pour qui veut pousser l’exploration plus loin, il faut goûter la mixture musicale et visuelle du collectif Turbo Sans Visa.

Traditionnellement épicée, naturellement excessive, politiquement incorrecte. Que les morceaux soient balkaniques, berbères ou béninois, le chant breton, wolof ou anglais, ça rape, ça chante, ça flute, ça triture le son et les images. On y prend tellement goût qu’on en redemande de ce piment là !

Ha pa vefe livioù ha blaz ar Balkanioù, Bro Venin pe sevenadur ar Verbered war o zonioù, ne vern, kanet ‘vo e wolofeg, e saozneg, e brezhoneg… Rapiñ, kanañ, fleütiñ a ra, ha friket ‘vez kement ar sonioù hag ar skeudennoù. Blazet eo, ken blazet ma teuer en-dro da gaout eus ar pimant-se!

The head cook spinning the records and shaking the mixture is Wonderbraz. Joining her is one heck of a crew.
VJ Badgreen mixes the rhythms repeatedly with the pieces of films he has collected across the world. Marion Gwenn raises the temperature and enhances Erik Marchand’s Breton lyrics. The Senegalese rapper K-Smile chops the texts in Wolof and English and, of course, the flutist Gurvan le Gac’s freestyle seasons the mixture.

Turbo without Visa
This artistic creation settles at the intersection of what the World Music convey in Africa and the Turbo-folk music originated from the Balkans.
It is an appropriation, an expedition into traditional contemporary music from today –and yesterday, a common bond showing the reciprocity of two different times, through a double sound and visual creation, making one from the sound, the image and the voice of Erik Marchand.  
Turbo without Visa enhances encounter, intrusion, clash, harmonies and disharmonies between cultures, which becomes an archipelago.
