just a few bars of random thoughts on growing up in atlanta...took a studio night and turned it into a celerbration of my new songs to come :)

Lost City of Atlanta (vibrate freestyle)

Using a 12 second Gemini sampler and a bootleg cassette cd combo deck in 1996, I tried making music by sampling song loops and then splicing that with break beat tracks from cd and recording horrible rhymes using a bootleg pair of headphones as a microphone.  it was disaster, and it was bliss.  As time went on I didn't stop, I was in rap groups throughout high school, and as a senior  someone introduced me to ACID on the PC.  I was mangling loops in a new way, despite the fact my Hewlett and Packard deskflop computer couldn't handle the audio in real-time without skipping, and recording vocals couldn't be done without massive latency. Now i can record vocals, instruments and midi anytime anywhere with a small audio device and a tablet 5 times as strong as that old computer was today.


	Even with all the advances, I revel in a quaint vision of a "return" to that simple approach.  With the wonderful loot project I simply try to find that wonderful place, a simple but focused passion for music above all else amidst too much noise, too many toys and industry ploys.  I simply wanna find that treasure that i started looking for so long ago, and I want to share what i find with everyone I know.  That's what really matters right?  Ah connection, the rarest loot of all!
