Hailing from the respected & rich music culture of Cork City. Dj & Producer David O'Neil who Studied DJ Techniques Music production in B.I.F.E under Sunil Sharpe, Doug Cooney and Defekt. Delivering a full blooded investigation into the integral side of Dark and heavy Techno, spanning from UK sounds to tougher FM & European sounds. The DON showcases a proficient display of potential and Kinetic energy with the mix quickly shifting gears throughout, similarly to his performance as 1/3 Elision DJs at their residents nights. For the episode, I had the pleasure to catch up with Doug Cooney. We had a chat about 5 of his favourite tracks that have influenced him over the years and some that continue to inspire him as an artist today. 
I really enjoyed this chat as we got naturally side tracked, touching on things like mindset, life and martial arts.

BIOGRAPHY:
Doug Cooney has cultivated his knowledge of Techno music over many years. Doug's passion for this craft runs deep and his DJ sets span the full spectrum of Techno, past and present. His style and attention to detail have earned him warm up sets for many of his Techno heroes, with Dave Clarke, James Ruskin, UVB and Abstract Division to name a few. He has been seen playing in venues throughout Ireland as well as numerous international bookings including a trip to the Tresor Club in Berlin for the New Faces event being one of the highlights of his career to date. Doug brings a similarly tireless ethos to his own productions, which blend classic analogue synthesis with contemporary digital sound design.
Since completing a master’s degree in Music Technology, Doug has released on labels such as Orbis, GND, Gynoid, EFR, Bastardo Electrico, N&N Records, Research & Orgone alongside RLSD Records his own imprint laying a strong foundation for his future in music. His productions has received support from Dave Clarke, Amelie Lens, Ben Sims, Luke Slater, Rodhad, KR!Z, and Answer Code Request. Doug’s tracks have been remixed by Aiken, Binny, Lee Holman and Dystopian records Jon Hester, proving his calibre in the international arena.
Doug is also a part of a strong team at BIFE DJ & Music Production Techniques course, working alongside Sunil Sharpe investing in the future generations of Irish Electronic music and further developing his craft in great company.
