WR064 - The Great Park 'If You Build It They Will Come'

Borealis is the solo project from the Asturian guitarist, Eduardo Suarez and "Loma Aerea" (Aerial Slope) is his second full length following a couple of EPs and an album "Tumba para un caballo cojo" in 2013.

The composition of "Loma Aerea" began shortly after the first full length was released. The recording sessions took from 2015 to the Spring of 2016 - the songs are longer, more harmonic, and complex. These new songs feature 6 and 12 string acoustics, electric guitars, banjos, synthesisers and field recordings from Asturian forests. 

"Loma Aerea" is an album of contrasts, a representation of the mystical and occult tone of natural environment. Although the songs are considerably more lengthy, they are not marked as much with the trance like drone prominent in his previous album. The sounds have gained new resources, dynamics and richness in timbre. The minimalist approach expands with an orchestral intention on a single instrument: the guitar. As always, all his songs have been recorded in one take, thus allowing the interpretation to take precedence over the technological perfectionism. 

"Loma Aerea" is released in CD format in an international cooperative edition between the Asturian label Truco Espárrago and Woodland Recordings.

RHODODENDRON is the long awaited follow up to the chaotic, experimental 2011 album .DIV by the seven piece German art pop band VIVIAN VOID.

RHODODENDRON was recorded in three summer days in Jablonec, Czech Republic at the house of Kati Linek, a student of electronic music from Aarhus, Denmark. Kati and the band squeezed drums, guitar amps, keyboards and microphones in her kitchen and living room whilst seven Muscovy ducks splashed in the garden pond. A racket was recorded, an EP of domestic bliss.

In true VIVIAN VOID tradition the physical release is something special. Each individual greeting card includes an absolutely unique 30 second snippet of music from their rehearsal room on a sound module that plays when the card is opened. An A4 photograph poster by Pola Sell is included too and the full EP is available as a Bandcamp download code in a choice of audio formats.

Also, for the first time, Vivian Void’s marvellous music will be available to stream and download on Spotify, iTunes and most other digital stores.

From the 'Understudy' album, recorded at home in Autumn 2017, which includes several songs with folk lyrics as well as new originals. 

Companion piece to 'Do Not Walk Under Wing' recorded earlier in 2017 in that both albums were recorded acoustically and without edits. Most of the songs were recorded on the same day they were written, with 'Understudy' and 'Bold Boy', for example, being first takes.

'Bold Boy' includes lyrics from ‘Sweet Thing’ from Best Loved American Folk Songs, collected and arranged by John and Alan Lomax, 1947.
