Decided I'd start clearing out my hard drive of untouched but mostly finished demos. 

Fading Skies started as a song called Desolate (Winter Skies) and was not written during a happy time. I was depressed in the middle of winter with hardly a friend to help me out of my emotional funk. It's bounced around for five years now going through revision after revision, and came to be what it is now after seeing Seven Lions, The Glitch Mob, Jason Ross, Slander & NGHTMRE, and Huxley Anne during the Alchemy Tour. I pulled bits and pieces of what I remember from that night and it became the song that it is now.

Find Me in the Stars was a thought experiment while I was playing with a free VST called Harsh Digital Nose. I drew a lot on some of the music I listened to back in high school. Stuff like the score from Pacific Rim, The Glitch Mob (again lol), Shadow the Hedgehog's soundtrack and a few different other oddballs.

Both I had planned for a bigger EP, but that never panned out due to switching to a newer computer and running into issues with the project files. Either way, enjoy! I put a lot of heart into both of these.

Fading Skies

Welcome to the World is a song near and dear to my heart. Clear back in 2019, I found out I was going to be a dad, and I was so overwhelmed with so many emotions. This song is more or less a story without words to me. 

A couple questions I've had about this song:

Q: Why isn't there a lead in the first drop(s)?
A: I played around with so many leads in this song, and nothing sounded good, so I opted to write it in the style of hymnal chorus, with the goal of the bass and soprano ends of the chords more or less functioning as counter melodies to each other. I'm pretty happy with the result, and if you don't like it, well, that's ok. It's just how I feel best represents the emotions I felt with this song.

Q: Why didn't you try to add vocals?
A: Because 1) I've tried and failed, and the words just do not come close to capturing the emotions of what I've felt. I might release an edit in the future with vocals, but I'd rather the original be exactly as I have come to love this song; and 2) my vocal range is absolute trash and I have no skills in singing, nor the money to hire someone else to sing for me haha.

I really wish I had more time to work on this before the contest deadline, but at this point, I really don't think I'd be able to release this any better than it is with how busy life is.

It truly was an honor to have a chance to remix my favorite song off of Embrace, and I truly hope I did the song justice.

Kill the Noise - Turn on the Lights (Woods Alive Remix)

Breathe is a song that shouldn't have existed. The opening melody of Breathe was originally just a sample melody I wrote while demoing a preset I helped prepare for someone a few years back, which I never intended to keep. At the last moment before I closed the unsaved project file, the thought "never delete a project file" hit my mind, and I instead saved it. That was 2016.

2018 rolled around and I found the file and decided to play around with it. It became almost entirely what you hear now minus a few tweaks to the mix over the last 5 years.

Breathe has been close to my heart since then. It's always been my "sunrise opener" styled project, but it wasn't ever meant to be a song after a specific genre or crowd. It quite simply was a song that became associated in my heart with new beginnings, hope, and moving forward despite what happened yesterday. This song is 100% a song I wrote for myself, but I wanted to share a little bit of the sunshine it's brought to my life with the rest of the world.

Sometimes it's OK to stop, enjoy the moment, and just Breathe.

This Is Not The End (BoL10 Edit)

I'm so happy to finally have this released! it sat in work-in-progress hell for almost four years before I finally cracked my writers block. 

This song was inspired from a singular scene frozen in my mind from the show Final Space--while I didn't try to capture the sound of the Final Space soundtrack, it was a delight to revisit a period of time where my music was ambient, spacey, and filled with a different charm than my current songs.

The End - Releasing on all major platforms via Soundrop

This song was originally intended to be a 42-second interlude titled "Waiting 'til the End". Eventually it turned into what it is now, as I explored new ideas and a more intimate style than most of the other stuff I've been working on. As  joke, I decided that "Waiting 'til the End" was the teaser for the final title, "The End."
