This was two, of the three, of our songs that we played at the Berklee High School Jazz Festival at Boston on March 10, 2011. We thought it would be cool to connect the two songs, rather than having to stop and start.

Two Blocks From The Edge

We are a small town high school jazz group in vermont that has a funk band for school and community related events, and 5-tet and 6-tet groups for competitions and big events. We started out with just a music theory group, Jack Fitzpatrick, Sawyer Mattsson, Alastair Bones, and Jody Henderson, that would jam every other day one block a day for an hour and a half. Then we got the idea that we would just have a funk band to play at school events such as football games, basketball games, etc. instead of having the whole concert band be the "pep band" as we have done in years past. After playing at a couple of school events we were really excited because we had a really killin' sound, so we decided we had enough people to split our funk band group up into two small jazz ensemble groups, 5-tet and 6-tet. Since this a high school program we hope to inspire upcoming students to keep up with this new and exciting addition to the Woodstock Union High School.
