This is Rose of Sharon. I snagged it from the SONG of SOLOMON 2:1 in the Bible somewhere around 1996. This was recorded that year as well. Zero production value, just raw with no effects. I played and sang all the parts (which ultimately is way easier than trying to assemble a band, im not opposed to that but when you hear the calling to lay something down, its time to press record and go) I had this guitar riff goin through my head for weeks while working in Kings Canyon National Park at the Visalia YMCA Skate Camp. Wham, the lyrics went perfect to the Riff. Hope ya'll enjoy!

Back in 2009 I stayed in a small rural community for 3 months . Penns Valley, Woodward to be exact. When i would drive into the one light town, i would see this old man on the side of the road kicking around stones, daily, as if he was searching for somthing. I asked a few locals about this guy. Thats stone kicker bob they said, hes searching for his widows wedding ring. She through it out the truck window and then passed shortly after. This shook my soul and broke my heart. The evening after i was told this story i recorded this song. It just poured out of me in nearly one take. This is th only version ive recorded.
