My heart sparked into fifth gear and I let out a gasp.  Instinctively I spun around and sprinted through the doorway. I could hear my pulse through my eardrums. All I knew was that I needed to get the hell out of this place now. 

Terror and confusion overtook my senses and the hallways became increasingly more difficult to navigate. Which way was out? Doors I thought I went through were now locked. Each turn I made was more confusing. Was I being chased? My heart was beating so hard I could feel my temples pulsing. I was so frightened, I was not consciously aware of how hard I was hyperventilating. Eventually I found myself in another dead end. I was certain I had been in this dimly lit room before. That grandfather clock was unmistakable - as were these old leather chairs and Victorian writing desk. .The doors had all been sealed. Something was trapping me in this house! I collapsed to the ground in tears. Instinctively, I crawled under a desk, curled into a fetal position, and began silently sobbing. The only thing I could hear outside of my panicked breathing was the steady tick of the grandfather clock.
