Wooly started playing music in his early teens. Several affiliations with various local bands ensued through out his high school and college years. "Canned heat, John Lee Hooker, Howlin Wolf, Savoy Brown, Sonny boy Williamson, Little Walter, Shakey Jake Harris, Junior Wells, Muddy Waters, King Biscuit Boy, Willie Dixon, Eric Burdon, and Paul Butterfield are among his favorite artists.
Wooly put music on hold in the mid 70's when he knocked up his crazy, nympho girlfriend, "Gladys". After a lifetime of bad luck, and dead ends, Wooly realized that, "it ain't nothing but the Blues".
