About this edit :
I’ve always loved music from Africa, particularly from Mali. However, I had never
heard of Rokia Traoré until last year when my sister sent me this tune insisting
that I would love it; and she was right.
The vocals are not the first element I usually notice when listening to a tune, especially when I don’t understand the language, but this was just something
else. I was immediately touched by the tone of her voice, and grooved by the
overall vibes of the tune. I had never done an edit before and thought this would
be the right tune to try it out with. I chose to leave a big part of the original tune in the breakdown of my edit, to preserve the emotion of her voice, whilst simply playing around with different loops before and after

Kevin Galiana aka Kaygee, is a franco/british gringo who was reborn in the Bristol basslines, before discovering Latin, Andean, Aztec sounds during a long trip through most of central and South America.
