Can there be such a thing as a Protestant "doctrine" in all seriousness? Dr. Craig uses this term often in this discussion. There is no central authority in Protestantism. But more importantly, why does "one facet" of the atonement take precedence, to use the good doctor's language? Is Jesus more the Gate, the Lamb that enters through it, the Priest, the Sacrifice, the Victim, the Victor, the King, the Servant, the Offering, or the Lord who recieved it, all of which He identifies Himself as? I'm interested in which of these titles Dr. Craig would say is the right one. And why should his opinion be imposed on all believers. Only the Apostles were given this authority, and he has not recieved it.

Here it is evident that for Protestantism is very utilitarian, while Catholicism focused in the Love of God.

Bishop Robert Barron and William Lane Craig joined around 20 scholars and academics for a symposium at Claremont McKenna College on January 13, 2018. The symposium was hosted by the Claremont Center for Reason, Religion, and Public Affairs and featured two sessions. In the first session, Bishop Barron spoke on the divine simplicity. In this second session, William Lane Craig spoke on the atonement. Both presentations were followed by roundtable discussion among the attendees.
