National health service on the verge of collapse?Health anxiety? It’s not joke!

I remember lots of ‘Doctor, Doctor’ jokes from when I was a kid and this spawned the song title and main lyric.

A song that’s all about the long drive home for Christmas over the mountains when you live far, far away from where you’re from.

It’s also about how Christmas releases us from the constraints of normal life once a year, allowing momentary release from the obligations and routines of normality.

A pop-rock song about having the courage to do all those things that you don’t feel capable of doing and maybe needing your friends and family to encourage you to ‘do it if you really want to!’.

Do it (if you really want to)

It seems all of us today feel we have to be everything to everyone but in fact struggle to be anything to anyone. The pressure of modern life is pushing us all over the edge.

Everything, Anything

#Harmonies that haunt as the track progresses. Although on the face of it this is a #sad song, I think there’s a degree of insight and realisation there that gives it a slightly uplifting vibe. Sad songs can make you feel better!

One of my personal favourites - hope you enjoy its acoustic vibes.

Broken

This song started out as an instrumental and slowly evolved lyrics and then some percussion. 

It’s about being in a self destructive cycle. 

The lyrics try to highlight the calamity and comedy of the situation.

The Mess I Made Again

Built around a beautiful riff that underpins the song, this is a cyclical exploration of insecurity, paranoia, isolation, autism and rage. The world wants you to change, but you can't.  The climax of the song is 'I hate your friends' which is more about the autistic anxieties about having to interact with everyone else who finds all this normal neurotypical stuff easy.  

Breakdown

A poppy rock number from when we were kids starting out in the band.  A proper ear worm that used to get everyone on their feet bouncing at the front of the stage.  Enjoy!

Always You

A song that I'll rework in the future.  Simple acoustic guitar and voice, mulling over how one day you'll find peace and that the person you were with won't need you any more.
