On the night of our very first event held at the Jurys Inn Sheffield, it looked as though the turnout was going to be very slim. But, even though the winter weather was most definitely against us, it didn't stop enough performing visitors who made it an entertaining and worthwhile night.

Not only did we have some returning guests, but some truly intriguing newcomers – some from outside the city, who all enjoyed themselves and certainly went down a treat! The performances included energetic, thoughtful and unusual poetry, stories, original songs, and hilarious seasonal comedy.

Sit back and listen to over 90 minutes of essential audio from these aspiring and established local entertainers. Our dedicated presenters do us proud once again as they introduce and capture the profound creative spirit from across our region.

"Jurys Inn" has proved to be a superb venue to hold our events and we are all looking forward to arranging another recording event sometime early in 2013.

We would like to say a special thank you to the management and staff for their support.

You will hear: Trev "The Road Poet" from Castleford, a thought inspiring song from Rob Stevens of Buxton, poetry from Peter Hartley of Sheffield, Pat with dialogue and blank verse from Sheffield`s "Write Space" group, The Snowflake Boys with some hilarious seasonal humour, more poetry from Neil Simpson, the "Homer of Hillsborough", Ashley from Sheffield with his unmissable topical and comical performances. Also we welcome new talent in the guise of Franks son (aka Kevin Matthews) from Hereford. This was his first time on a radio podcast and he performed an exclusive song set. We also welcome on board John from Sheffield with his unique presentation of the spoken word.

Hi, we are an established Sheffield based voluntary group with a passion for all kinds of creative media produced locally.

We are proud to showcase a diverse range of original spoken word and music from around the region. We offer a distinct platform for local creative expression, and continue to support Sheffield's excellent cultural image and productive performance.

Our website was originally conceived in 2007 and features our exclusive and popular local community radio shows. The place to hear real down to earth local folk who are simply inspired by creativity.
