If I keep wishing upon the shimmering light of that star hung up
On foothill’s edge tossed up like coin
Clear my mind and meditate to sacred places so safe

I could hook right on Humboldt street by the melange of pied de terre
and the gingerbread home of mottled brick as gryphons vigilantly stare
Continue on past the citadel as monolithic chimneys reach
over the edifice as ivy climbs up the cornerstones and eaves

Perhaps that all I would need is to see what the other serpentine street reveals and where it leads
but regardless what fears and bewilders me is that despite the choice of the path I might regret it as I look back

Or I could skip down a primrose lane azaleas flourishing each side
with a sweet ambrosia and fertile flesh, their petals teeming and nubile
Feel the wound of a rose-bush thorn, evokes the stroke of Toulous Le Trec
with a nipper there in a bivouac hat and dappled soft cyan sun-dress

Maybe chasing a rare cunning dream, but one that just may never be caught in the realm of waking days
If I could learn to make time in these waning days before the time bleeds more of my life, and only 
emptiness remains

feeling damned if I do or I don't each direction could yield a curse

before my dithering leads me to hurt and I have nowhere left to turn

I might sail on the Westerlies upon a dreamy zephyr breeze

I could flounce through a fantasy or vision lived in self-made fate
Alas this malison to make me choose, seems so soon yet far too late

Only two ways to go anymore, once this decisions committed I dread, I can't go back from whence I came

With an ambling wanderlust sought out Bimini Isle
to bathe and to quaff from the grape vine of life
An arcane mystical spring of vitality
spawning an elixir granting eternity
An imaginary place where we return to innocence
as cherubs and boy derelicts full of nonsense

But there's no such thing but what lies within
where fiction and magic are truth
it's clear now that this is where life begins
a child is a fountain of youth

There's a rumor of a boy child who never grows up
selfish, full of mischief sees life how he wants
Says we all can fly find our isle if we believe
where times stops we go with happy thoughts joie de vivre
And every new born baby's laugh shatters into tiny shards
and each one assigned to a fairy in charge
