This week we are talking about building your boat. Don’t wait until you’re in the middle of the storm to build your boat. You want to build your relationship with and trust in God before you need it.

Many of us spend our lives going through the motions because we think that we are obligated to. But, the only thing that God obligated us to was to love our neighbors. Don’t live your life at a level under the abundance that God called you to. Instead, embrace your obligation to love God, yourself, and your neighbor fiercely. But, don’t use that love as an excuse not to fulfill your God-given destiny.

This week we are talking about how to overcome perfectionism. We often think that we have to be perfect, in order to be worthy. But, God love us, flaws and all. And nothing we can do can separate us from the overwhelming love of God. You are who He says you are.

This week, we are talking about the danger of idols, especially in American society. We get so caught up in doing and being what we “should”, that we miss the beauty in who we are. It is important that we do not allow society to influence us to put our careers, ambitions, or even our families before worshiping and pleasing God. Don’t find yourself miserable because you are living someone else’s version of happiness.

Autumn is the season for change and as the year comes to an end, it’s natural to want to reflect on what we did right, what we did wrong, and the last couple of changes we can make before 2019 officially begins. One of the best elements of autumn is the beauty that results from the change. In this season, the temperature changes and the leaves turn beautiful colors, and the same can happen for us. If nature can let go of dead things, we should too.
