Worker Bees: they toil selflessly for the greater good while keeping their environment cool. But beware, they carry a big sting. 

"Worker Bees" is the first creative collaboration between the brothers Atkinson (Greg and Darren), since the days of early Big Heavy Stuff and the earlier Ups and Downs. 

With a reformed Ups and Downs set to release their long-awaited compilation CD on Feel in August 2011, the debut release from Worker Bees is a timely companion piece. A rare opportunity to compare old and new, then and now.  

Worker Bees sees the Atkinson brothers ably assisted by Nick Kennedy (Big Heavy Stuff, Knievel) and Zac Atkinson (Greg's son) taking turns on drums, with John Flade (Ups and Downs) on guitar. 

While the 'Bees sound is clearly a product of their previous outfits, it is also refreshingly new and unique. This is pop that is driving, inventive, melancholic and coolly melodic. And live, they carry a big sting!
