Recording of people shopping in Primark to be layered with the music played on loop by the cobbler shop (Greenday - Misery)

The Original recording of the Merrion Centre that we took while sitting around the corner from the Cobblers. He was playing the song 'Misery' by Greenday on loop while working and it really summed up the atmosphere of the site.

The original recording of this was very quiet and unbalanced perhaps because the sound recorder was positioned on the wooden floor so the noises and music were recorded having vibrated through the flooring. This version has been edited to be clearer but is in no way perfect which is a shame.

Before setting up the web in its location we did a small test run in the alley outside my house to see how easily we could attach the ends of the label ribbons to themselves and how easy they were to work with as a material.
Once the test piece web was up we noticed that the movement of the strands in the wind created a light rustling sound similar to that of rain.
This is an element that we hadn't thought about but that will bring another dynamic to the final piece.

Web Trial Sounds

As the song Misery by Green day was played on loop by the man in the Shoe Repair stall on one of the first days that we went down to the market, it seemed suitable to use it as the music being played in our mock stall to lead people down to the projection of our clause. This is a layering of the recordings in primark with the song played on loop to create an atmosphere of a busy stall why maintaining the underlying message of misery and hopelessness felt within the market through the lyrics of the song.
