A 90's inspired disco-dance tune for the young at heart.
I never dreamed I'd release Super Natural. After writing and recording the track I decided the lyrics were much too sweet for this day and age. Yes, the song has a great euro-dance beat with influences from legendary Motown producer Harvey Fuqua’s work with Sylvester on “You Make Me Feel Mighty Real” and English pop-soul, disco performers like Rick Astley on “Never Gonna Give You Up”.. But that was a different era. In this age lyrics are as likely to demean someone as to lift them up. So, onto the shelf it went. Recently a friend said she couldn't get the track out of her mind and asked me to play it for her again. For some reason, maybe the surprising energy of the track or perhaps her enthusiastic response at hearing it again, the song suddenly seemed timeless to me. For the first time I appreciated the refreshingly innocent, honest and positive nature of the lyrics and also realized, philosophically, that I stand behind every romantic word. Thus, I decided to share it after all.
