An interview with Siobhan Davies.

Siobhan Davies is an acclaimed British choreographer, founder and artistic director of Siobhan Davies Dance. Her creativity stems from her fervent belief in dance as a wellspring of ideas, knowledge and forms. Siobhan began dance classes in 1967 and soon joined the newly formed London Contemporary Dance Theatre as a dancer.  She made her first work in 1972, and formed her own company in 1988. Since then, Siobhan has created over 40 works to critical acclaim (Olivier Awards, South Bank Show Award) becoming a key advocate for the wider recognition of dance as a significant art form.

World Event Young Artists (WEYA) is the first of its kind and will take place in the cultural city of Nottingham, England, from 7-16 September 2012.

This global event will showcase a selection of the best international creative talent, across a spectrum of artforms, in one city, providing an opportunity for 1000 artists from 100 nations to join together and share their creativity on an international platform.
