We look at the upcoming EU referendum in the UK, or ‘Brexit’, and what effect a vote to leave the European Union could have on both the UK and international trademark communities. The UK’s Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA) last week issued a report on what it foresees as the specific issues and challenges that practitioners could face should the UK leave the EU. We, therefore, found out more by talking to Chris McLeod, a partner at Elkington and Fife in London and the current president of ITMA.
