World Atlas is an Orchestral Indie Pop band from Brooklyn, NYC. Songwriter and frontman, Brian Groux, and a seven-piece band add a new but classic voice to the genre. Their self-titled EP released by Magic Marker Records (Portland, OR) in 2016 led the band to tour the UK as well as perform at many local NYC venues, and festivals in the US and UK. The band’s latest LP, ‘Slow Love,’ is a collection of songs that elevates traditional Indie Pop with fully-orchestrated textures including string sections, horns, vibraphone, melodica, backup singers (The Umbrella Girls), and boy / girl harmonies, starred with hand claps, tambourine, ahs and la las. World Altas’ songs are at the same time a faded photo album and well-worn notepad overflowing with fantastical characters, dream-inspired lyrics, colorful stories and charming scenarios, culminating in captivating, well-crafted pop songs steeped in nostalgia. ‘Slow Love,’ written and recorded in Brooklyn, includes an extensive cast of NYC musicians, years in the making.
