in my day

I lost the project file for this so I just remade it as I remember making it. I know it doesn't have the same timbre as the original, but I did the best I could. Hope you guys enjoy.




Also yeah I know its not zelda's lullaby, zelda's lullaby goes like < ^ > < ^ > and this is a rendition of the opening song of the game. I was like, what, 16 maybe 17 when I made this? so just cut my younger self some slack. If it was me now I'd name it something like "drain pipe operator" because who cares. I thought the name 'zelda's lullaby' was prettier and more thematic and I never anticipated the growing up albums would be as big as they were. This was all just music for me, and I'm glad people resonated with it. I feel like I'm getting old, and out of touch honestly. These albums were really about my nostalgia but seeing this new generation online have nostalgia for a different era is strange to me. I guess the growing up series wasn't generational. It was just generation. Us fellas that were born around 1997 had that strange transition from no technology to all technology. That time period feels like a dream now. Like, life was way too good back then and now it just kinda hurts to think about it. Feels like there's no outside anymore. Especially not as an adult. Outside fun is long gone. I remember running through the streets when it was pouring rain outside with my friends screaming. I was like 13 years old. I remember tree forts, and trampolines. It felt like there was so much adventure in those times. Hell I remember getting a tomagatchi as a present from my friend and we could look at those things for hours. That tomagatchi wouldn't be anything more than a reel now. feels like the iPhone changed all that. but maybe its just me. I might be crazy. A lot of bad stuff happened after I moved away from my childhood friends. I was really lonely. I started making music after that. That's probably why all my music sounds sad. Maybe im the weird one. I enjoyed growing up.

oh and btw VHS tapes aren't scary fellas its ok. They look very pretty actually. I'm not an analogous horror man. petscop is cool though I will admit. How'd he do that? You know its just the medium is so saturated at this point like there's so much analog horror stuff and we like it a lot because analog horror is cool yeah, but like now because of liminal backroom scary I see so many people think VHS tapes are gonna eat them and its so scary so creepy ew. no VHS tapes look pretty. They're beautiful. In all their 60 FPS, or whatever. Actually how many FPS's does an analog VHS tape even have. Like 80 or something? It looks very smooth. It looks like a real memory too. Like thats what a memory looks. lik ein my head. A VHS tape. Do you think people with HD camera's will remember memories like an HD video? Do I think I'm cool or at least decent? Yeah I do, bud.
