COCO BRYCE - TRUST ISSUES (ICENI 140 REMIX)

Illegal Shipment joins the ranks for WORSHIP004, delivering attitude fueled 2-step heaters with unnerving undertones - authentically infusing elements of dubstep and grime akin to the aesthetics of late 90’s and early 00’s mutations of UK garage.

Drawing from the more aggressive sounds of early bassline, “Cheque It” opens with kick led grooves and sharp drums, evolving in the latter half to abyssal bass hits with shimmering synths offering a lighter contrast in the mix.

“Fight It VIP” is a heads-down lights-off-in-the-basement tool with creeping synths 
& stuttering 2-step complemented with pulsing, sub-shaking, warped bass. Short breaks give way to abrasive samples and disquieting stabs. 

Dripping in old-school flavour, the digital bonus track “Nuff Talk” brings punchy kicks, slowed vocal samples, and gritty bass lines together with playful ease and a warm, rough-around-the-edges aesthetic.

The "Cultus I" compilation opens with “Wig Split” by MOSCOW LEGEND & Ninety, a variation on one of the most prominent tracks featured in the dubplate series, with the eponymous vocal snippet revealed in this version of the mix. No long introductions necessary for this one. Cruel, frenetic, bone-rattling mutant grime.

Please note: “Wig Split” is a variation on the track present on WORSHIP002. The WORSHIP002 version continues to remain dubplate only.

WORSHIP lynchpin Tracksuit Goth leans into slower, club focused territory on “State of Emergency”, a 120 tool building its groove and atmosphere around whirred sirens and wide, reflexive kicks. An amalgamation of percussive tribal techno and UK bass, this one is low-key yet distinctive, offering effortless blends and flexibility in mixes.

Diving outside of the lighter, future bass sounds that he has become renowned for, S T I N 9 takes on a new form with “bloo6”, a heavy chaos techno cut that bleeds anarchistic peak time energy. Centred around an excessive, bitter, and destructive stuttered beat, small glints of glossy venom seep through the edges.

Weighing in heavy with murderous intent across three guaranteed dance levellers, Trends & Boylan land on Sneaker Social Club with a bang. The pair have been slugging out grime-leaning gear for the past five years, causing a ruckus with their truly evil ‘Norman Bates’ beat, releasing also on Trends own Mean Streets label and linking up with Slimzee’s foundational stable Slimzos for some dubplate action.

They bring that street-level swagger to the tracks on the Ninety Nine EP, but here their punchy 8-bar flex is embellished to blend in with the Sneaker surroundings a treat. ‘Carnage’ tips towards chopped up Think Breaks while ‘Nocturnal’ doubles down on the dirtiest of b-lines. Confirming their allyship from dubplates gone by, Slimzee links up with Trends & Boylan for the double A side slammer, ‘Ninety Nine’, weaving dread-side D&B stabs around a tightly-wound beat with devastating results. There’s not an ounce of excess on these cuts precision tooled to smashup the dance good and proper. Need we say more?
