I had an idea a year ago to do a remix of Shimmy Shimmy Ya, but was so focused on producing my full-length album that I had to put it on the back burner. When I went at it  this year, it just came together so perfectly. I think since WuTang recently came out with new material, the energy was out there and the Shaolin came down and blessed me creatively. The track is the perfect blend of bass and suspense that I love in my songs.

With an in-depth knowledge of production, mixing, and performance, Worthy has the insight to play for his audience, cultivating intense positive energy on the dance floor. From salty aired islands to dark club basements, over the past 10 years, Worthy has paid reverence to the traditional form of classic house while tripping off the mark and sinking into the euphoric less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass.
 
For the past two years Worthy has been locked up putting the final touches on his debut full-length album.  Disbehave, is a genre-defying rebellion against the house producers status quo. This album cannot be confined to a category, nor can Worthy be caged in with his colleagues. Breaking down rules and boundaries, Worthy has sought to set himself apart from the mundane world of expectation, striking out to release something unexpected.  Liberated and unchained, this album is the ultimate expression of his being.
 
As one of the four founding fathers of Dirtybird, you will find some homage to the Dirtybird sound on tracks like I Get. But this album departs from his usual booty tech beats, into a broader sonic experiment as he forges new alliances with future bass, downtempo, breakbeat and deep house. You can hear the broadness and complexity of sounds on tracks like On The Floor feat. Kevin Knapp (Off, Hot Creations) with its heavy bass to the beauty of swelling chords and swirling vocals on tracks like The Words feat. Audio Angel. Reminiscent of the early days of the electronic sound movement that were less imbued with genre stereo-typing, Disbehave is an emotional departure into a complex cavern of atmospheric rhythm, eluding to the many moods of the dance music sphere.

scrunched up bass face. What’s coming out of the speakers is almost impossible to comprehend, and as you
look around at everyone moving you just know this record is one to pay attention to.
Today we are welcoming back one of the pioneers to the Box of Cats sound (even though she might not know
it), Mz Worthy. Her latest cut Make Me is peak time festival shit. A big warped acid bass and catchy vocal cuts in
and out of an absolute menace of a kick drum. There's something about this that really throws us back to the
electro house days. Each element has been crafted perfectly, not overcooked - just the way a dance record
should be.

Our froth levels are at 11 for this one, and if we aren't careful we may need to sit down. Get around this asap!

While we were sleeping our friend Worthy has put out a whopping 27 releases on his Anabatic imprint just down the street and every once in a while I find myself in a conversation with him about a new record we both want to sign! Good thing we are friends and it always works out for the best as it has in this case. Worthy has teamed up with a newcomer named Eats Everything who has simply popped on the scene and started dropping bombs left and right. Eats debuted on Catz n Dogz great label, “Pets” a couple months ago with a fantastic debut single and is all set up for an incredible year in multiple genres.

On this record Worthy and Eats collab on a gigantic breakbeat / old skool electro influenced monster. I know we all want to pretend we play 3 hour deep sets at 120 bpm these days but when you get in the big room often times you need some firepower. This one easily fits in with house and has rocked all the big rooms for me this summer. Sometimes we go deep and sometimes we go big and this is definately BIG!

No one knows how to push the boundaries of House music quite like Mz Worthy. With a deeply intuitive understanding of production, she’s shown reverence to the traditional form of classic House even while tripping off the mark & sinking into euphoric, less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass. Attaching “Mz” to her name, Mz Worthy marks the new era of her career. With a new relationship to DJing, she connects with her music and her audience like never before. 

Despite over two decades in the scene, she continuously felt disconnected from the world and her fans. After years of repressing feelings of gender dysphoria, Mz Worthy came out as transgender in 2020. Describing the discovery as pieces of a puzzle coming together, Mz Worthy has invited her fans to join her on her journey in finding herself. Feeling a sense of freedom like never before, she has become more expressive in her music and mixing. 

Mz Worthy is no stranger to the world of electronic music. Energized by the early American rave scene, she bounced from city to city before finally landing in San Francisco. It was here that she put down roots and established the Dirtybird party alongside Claude VonStroke & Justin & Christian Martin. She released her breakout track “Irst Te” off Dirtybird records back in 2007, followed up by bangers like “Shy Look” (2012), “Tric Trac” with Eats Everything (2011) and “Dip” (2013). 

Worthy once again proved her notoriety as a producer with her 2014 debut album, Disbehave. Released off her very own label, Anabatic Records, the critically acclaimed album defies genres and pushes the boundaries of the traditional House sound. She followed the record up with a 2-part remix album, featuring Will Clarke, Walker & Royce, Thugfucker, Stanton Warriors, and Yolanda be Cool among others. She has since released on top labels, such as Defected, Exploited, Insomniac, and Toolroom.

Having played the massive Coachella, Dirtybird Campout, Burning Man, and Ultra festivals, Mz Worthy has the insight to play for her audience every time, cultivating intense positive energy and an energetic dance floor camaraderie. She invites her audience to embrace their true selves, just as she is.

Open to showing and teaching the trans experience, Mz Worthy is a light for other LGBTQ artists. This is only the beginning for her as she reintroduces herself to the scene.
