CIARKI are back with their latest compilation, SAME KOTY, Vol. 2. It’s been almost a year since the launch of the series, which has included the likes of We Rob Rave, Penera, and Avtomat. It has taken music platforms by storm, bringing to light new gems from the Polish broken and bass scene — and as demonstrated in this release, there’s much more to come.

This long-awaited, dancefloor-focused release features seven different Polish artists, many of whom have already established their names with wider audiences. The new compilation moves towards stomping leftfield house and bass techno, with talented duo Private Press and track Kordlooops, and man like naked relaxing and his My Devils. There’s also Gluon, a 2-step track infused with electro, smoothly embraced by Holoe. Habibi Funk is another stomper from house-lover Marcin Krupa, who is bringing reese bass and funk vocals into his production. There’s also a difficult-to-describe but very cool combination of breaks, slow-tempo and soothing vocals, stirred together by Baby Meelo in Can’t Explain. Moving towards faster tempos, enter the supremely talented footwork producer Ruchy, whose track Hella is featured as a single available for pre-order. Finally, experienced producer Tom Encore goes back to his roots with a deep drum and bass roller Body Double.

As one of Techno’s originators, Godfather of Techno Soul Eddie Fowkes has shaped the Techno genre for over 36 years. With his releases on Metroplex, Tresor, Sony, Peacfrog, and his own imprint CityBoy Records and Detroit Wax Label, Fowlkes' contribution to the blueprint of modern electronic music cannot be overstated. 

Returning in fierce form for 2023, Eddie Fowlkes arrives on Radio Slave’s Rekids with a sizzling four-tracker. From the red hot drums and trippy vocals on the opening track ‘Forever’ through to the bubbly synths and swinging percussion on the B2 ‘Nice’, Fowlkes’ funk-infused House and Techno has its sights set squarely on the dancefloor - an unwavering testament to the lasting production chops of a true originator.

T4T LUV NRG present the first vinyl release by Gynoid 74, the beloved Glaswegian DJ known also as Miss Cosmix. Label heads Eris Drew & Maya Bouldry-Morrison (Octo Octa) met Gynoid 74 through their work with the queer Shoot Your Shoot event series in Scotland. Having been DJing for 20 years and has sharing her knowledge and sound with so many artists in Glasgow, she’s truly beloved for her contributions to the scene. 

The three artists all formed an immediate connection because of their mutual love for old school electronics, tape culture, and proper house music. Gynoid 74 tracks are a truly refreshing mix of 12-bit sampling and raw breaks alongside “tracky” house music that could have come from Chicago in the 80s, but didn’t. The songs on the “Shroom E.P.” are elemental and elegant, each one recorded on a limited kit of gear by a special artist who makes timeless music for herself, creating little worlds of her own to exist in.

The ineffable Brighton and Manchester based duo Cortese deliver an impressive single for Street Tracks, backed with a remix from Dublin based producer Tyvion Valentine.

Already creating a stir on the scene via releases for Shall Not Fade, Time Is Now, Eton Messy, as well as their own Plaza imprint, Cortese are turning heads and moving feet with their unique fusion of pumping four to the floor beats and more steppier rhythms that draw upon the garage and rave genres.  On ‘Inertia’, the duo float ethereal melodies and glistening keys over an intricate and shuffling rhythm for quite the epic ride!

On remix duties, Tyvion Valentine follows up releases for Street Tracks and Plaza with his own take on ‘Inertia’.  Playfully utilising vocal elements within a driving and warm production, Tyvion’s remix really showcases what this talented producer is up to currently, and an anticipation to hear more from this rising star.
