After smashing her BBC Radio 1 residency, setting up her own record label &Friends, and joining the Defected crew for sets in Ibiza and Croatia, Monki’s dual single comes at a crucial moment for the presenter, DJ and producer, and certainly doesn’t disappoint. She throws down her signature bass-heavy and soul infused sound with ‘Electricity’, pairing prominent hi-hats with high impact build-ups. ‘ENG98’ echoes a classic house sound with uplifting piano moments and vocals loops, completing a seriously stomping release with a sound that translates from festival arenas to euphoric club moments.

The man known only as Lord Leopard, has been smashing it on all fronts of late.  When not riding the surf in his local Cornish town, the good Lord has been chalking up stellar releases for the likes of Edible, Classic Music Company, Cajual and Music For Freaks.

Always with a deft ear for hooky club tracks, and a set of dancing feet for a good groove, Lord Leopard delivers the ‘Swipe Right’ EP for Street Tracks, featuring a trio of tasty, slammin’ cuts.

‘Swipe Right’ goes for the jugular; a spirited dance floor jam that evokes the very best in classic house music, its bass and rhythm section coming over like a long lost Danny Tenaglia production, whilst a twisted, looping riff is deployed to arouse the drama already set by a soaring vocal.

‘Ill Vibe’ is cut from similar cloth, with its rattling drums, booming bottom end and a blitz of stabs, one shots and FX’d samples, making for a dope, underground house cut.  Drawing the release to a close, ‘Juiced’ serves up jazzy vibes over clip-cloppety beats, the roots of which lie in that Chicago/Paris house sweet spot that Lord Leopard always hits so well with every release.
